They think that walking connects you to what is essential. The first season of the Caminada de Labastide-Saint-Pierre association is coming to an end, and the entire entertainment team is happy to have introduced a new range of paths to its members. Lately, the program was still very attractive for all those who love effort and discovery. In March, the club organized a big weekend in the Gers, where the group was able to discover the surroundings of Lectoure, Fources and Romieu. Then every Thursday and Sunday, when the weather is favorable, outings are organized in Labastide-Saint-Pierre and its surroundings. They trek in particular towards Bruniquel, Saint-Antonin, Moissac or Montgaillard, and the list is not exhaustive: “We share walks over minimum distances of eleven to twenty kilometers” explains secretary Mireille Algret.
Towards Compostela
Last week, a group continued its journey on the Way of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle where for four days, it joined Cajarc to Lascabannes, a distance of eighty kilometers. All these outings take place in a very good atmosphere, and moreover the little bouts of fatigue are quickly forgotten. The outings will stop at the beginning of July, due to the holidays: “But we are expecting you at the beginning of September to show you the region, do not hesitate to come and enlarge our group” emphasize the leaders, who are also the animators of these great strides. Today, there are more than thirty of them sharing their passion for hiking. And clearly, with walking sticks and backpacks, they are not ready to stop there.
