Outgoing MP Stéphane Lenormand (Archipel Demain) leads the first round of the legislative elections in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon on Saturday June 29 with 43% of the votes at 8 p.m. In second position with 17.56% of the votes, Frédéric Beaumont (Socialist Party) is currently qualified for the second round, subject to validation of the results by the Ministry of the Interior on Sunday June 30 at 8 p.m.

The counting of votes was completed in the four polling stations of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon this Saturday, June 29, and the provisional results place the outgoing deputy Stéphane Lenormand well ahead in this first round of early legislative elections with 43.09% of the vote, or 1,184 votes cast at 8 p.m.

Frédéric Beaumont came in second place and therefore also qualified for the second round, with 16.92% of the votes, or 465 votes cast.

In third position, Marion Letournel (La France Insoumise) with 14.88% of the votes, or 409 votes cast. Patrick Lebailly (Together to build) is fourth with 14.52% of the votes, or 399 votes cast. Finally, Patricia Chagnon (National Rally) comes in fifth position with 10.59% of the votes, or 291 votes cast.

Turnout is slightly up in the archipelago compared to the 2022 legislative elections. 55.42% of voters turned out to vote, or 2,809 people, compared to 53.45% two years ago. However, the turnout figures at noon suggested a greater increase in turnout. Indeed, 28% of voters had already turned out by midday, compared to 21% in 2022.

It was to the polling station at Saint-Pierre town hall that voters traveled the most. It recorded 57.59% participation. It is in Miquelon that participation is lowest, with a rate of 52.88%. The participation rate was 54.33% at the Feu Rouge office, and 55.16% at Henriette Bonin’s office.
