In a context of democratization of access to electric vehicles, Ile-de-France residents will have the opportunity to test the latest electric models from many car manufacturers free of charge on June 30, 2024 at the Vincennes Hippodrome. It is in this context of democratization of access to electric vehicles that Ile-de-France residents will have the opportunity to test for free, on June 30 at the Vincennes racecourse, the latest electric models from many car manufacturers. As part of the deployment of Low Emission Zones (ZFE), Electric Test Days are days dedicated to testing and getting started with electric vehicles. This year again, from April to September 2024, the Electric Test Days return to 7 French metropolises. Its stages: Bordeaux, Nantes, Rouen, Paris, Lille, Angers and Toulouse. Organized by Mobility Makers with the support of the Roole automobile club (formerly Identicar) and the SIEML, an energy expert union, this family and friendly event is 100% free. These days dedicated to testing electric cars will take place over a Sunday, and will be open to individuals in an emblematic location in each of these cities. Seven highlights which will take place, over the course of a Sunday, in the emblematic places of each of these cities. To allow the general public to come and discover these vehicles, the event is 100% free and open to young and old. On the program: 1,600 tests of new electric vehicles available, competitions, activities for young and old, and meetings with electrical experts who will be able to provide information on the autonomy of electric vehicles, the charging networks in each of the cities, but also on the new measures linked to EPZs. 2023, the year of electric firsts: While in 2023 sales of electric cars continued their strong growth with 298,522 registrations (or almost 100,000 units more than in 2022), electric mobility has taken a decisive step in France. From now on, electric is a reality for many motorists and this transition is accelerating: according to the Automobile Platform (PFA), in 2023, more than one in four cars sold in France was 100% electric or plug-in hybrid. Electric models generated a market share of 16.8% of all new cars registered in France last year, compared to 13.3% in 2022. In addition, for the first time in history in the automobile industry, sales of electric cars have exceeded those of diesels, with electric cars representing 15% of sales, compared to only 10% for diesels. The obstacles that slowed the adoption of electric cars have now been overcome: the density of the charging network has improved, and social leasing facilitates access to these vehicles. This trend is also seen on a global scale, as for the first time, the best-selling car of the year was electric. Finally, the cost of acquiring an electric vehicle has decreased considerably, with models announced from 24,000 euros, making this technology more accessible than ever.
