FC Laval sits at the top of the men’s standings of the Première ligue de soccer du Québec (PLSQ) at mid-season.

Laval has a record of 8-2-2 and 26 points. They are ahead of CS Saint-Hubert (20 points) and CS Saint-Laurent (19 points) in the top three. The latter team has two games in hand, however.

Alexis Jeanne sits at the top of the PLSQ scorers’ rankings with five goals in eight games. He is currently tied with Lukumbi Tshindaye (Royal Sélect Beauport) and Mouhamadou Kane (CS Saint-Laurent).

For its part, AS Laval is in eighth place in the provincial circuit. The eastern Laval club has a record of 2-4-4, good for a harvest of 10 points. They have a match in hand over CS Longueuil which occupies seventh place with three points ahead.

Shawn Anthony Altidore Viau is AS Laval’s top scorer with four personal goals.

Note that the two clubs faced each other earlier this season. This Laval derby was won 2 to 1 by AS Laval.

Women’s circuit

FC Laval has a 4-3-3 record with its women’s team. It ranks fourth out of six in its division. However, the players from the west of Laval have two games in hand that, in the event of a win, would allow them to move up to second place.

AS Laval is having a more complicated season with a 3-7-2 record, which places the team in penultimate place in Division B.

Unlike their male counterparts, the FC Laval players won their Laval derby by a score of 2 to 0 during a match presented on May 18.
