This Saturday begins the 78th edition of the Avignon Festival. This great national theater festival welcomes during this edition the Lyon theater troupe ”La compagnie du monde invisible” which will perform from June 29 to July 21, 2024.
For almost a month, the Lyon theater troupe settled in Avignon to perform their show ”L’Envol”. This festive, funny and moving show uses the power of humor with the aim of questioning today’s models, particularly gender stereotypes. Through different sketches which advocate an ode to freedom, the relationship to beauty, virility, motherhood and many other subjects will be treated, especially with laughter, sometimes satire, but above all with kindness.
“We wanted to show the hidden phase of the iceberg, of all these standards that are dictated to us on a daily basis. How we force a boy to be virile, a woman to want children. It’s never moralistic, just observations, personal stories, which really happened to us and which we wanted to replay on stage to make the spectator think” describe Hugo and Nell, actors of the company.
For 1h15, this performance played by a total of 7 actors and directed by Mathilde Mariat, aimed at children and adults alike will take place at La Factory in Avignon. Tickets are between 12 and 22€. Visit their Instagram page for more information.
