Around the 7th kilometer, the latter was the victim of a fall, leaving her opponent with a clear path to race towards a new victory, synonymous with a perfect triple on the Ghent course. Manon Pastre took 2nd place, at 4’06”, while Carole Pivot came to complete the podium (at 5’24”).

Lenormand as he pleases

Among the men, Jérémy Lenormand ran his race as he pleased, to easily win in 1h18’31”, ahead of Eric Despujols (at 9’02”) and Pierre Pinout (at 10’44”). A result which should reassure him about his state of form, one week before the GTVO in which he will participate, in relay, with Clément Martin.

Over the 12.5 km distance, it was the youngsters who animated the race. In view of his latest results, victory seemed promised to Enoha Reizabal Bellanger. But that was without taking into account digestive problems, which seriously handicapped the Oloronais, forced to stop twice on the side of the road. In the last two kilometers, Néo Menahem (FCO) managed to distance Calixte Ménard to go and get his first victory of the season. The young Nayais, who competes in the “cadet” category, climbed onto the 2nd step of the podium (at 33”), ahead of the unfortunate Reizabal Bellanger, 3rd at 2’10”. The women’s race was dominated by Océane Galerant, who preceded Virginie Sere by 6’27” and Lucie Souverbie by 6’35”.

Great performance from Ghent resident Jérémy Lenormand over 19 km.

Very nice podium of the 12.5 km trail, from left to right Calixte Ménard (2nd), Néo Menahem (1st) and Enoha Reizabal Bellanger (3).

A first victory which is good for walker Bruno Palengat.
