More than half of the government, including Gabriel Attal and Gérald Darmanin, are candidates in the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7.

POLITICS – More than half of the government is in the running. Gabriel Attal and several of his ministers are standing for re-election in the early legislative elections to be held on June 30 and July 7. Of the 35 members of the government, 24 are running for a mandate as MPs.

To find out where, Le HuffPost compiled the constituencies where they are candidates in a map that you can see below. Gabriel Attal, designated by Emmanuel Macron as the leader of the Macronist camp, is representing himself in his constituency, the tenth of Hauts-de-Seine, in Vanves, of which he has been the representative since 2017. The Prime Minister was elected with 60% of the vote in 2022, against the socialist Cécile Soubelet (40%). Today he is urging voters to restore their confidence in him to continue his mission in Matignon.

Still in Hauts-de-Seine, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné tries for the first time to be elected deputy by running in the 9th constituency including Boulogne-Billancourt. The government spokesperson Prisca Thevenot puts his mandate in the neighboring constituency at stake.

Elsewhere in Île-de-France, the Minister of the Civil Service Stanislas Guerini and the Minister Delegate in charge of Business Olivia Gregoire are running for office in Paris. There are three outgoing deputies from Yvelines running again: Aurore Bergé (Equality), Marie Lebec (Relations with Parliament) and Jean-Noel Barrot (Europe). Franck Riesterthe Minister for Foreign Trade, wants to keep his mandate in Seine-et-Marne, where he has been elected since 2007. In the same department, Frédéric Valletoux (Health) is also back in the campaign under the Horizons label, while Marie Guevenoux, Minister responsible for Overseas Territories and also support of Édouard Philippe, is a candidate for re-election in Essonne.

Darmanin plays his ministerial position in Tourcoing

In the north, Gerald Darmaninthe Interior Minister who is one of the government’s heavyweights, is campaigning again in Tourcoing. He has already made it known that if he fails, he will resign from the government, including before the Olympic Games which begin on 26 July. His colleague in charge of Agriculture Agnès Pannier-Runacher, never a candidate for legislative elections, is also running in the Hauts-de-France region, in Pas-de-Calais.

Marc FesneauMinister of Agriculture, and Guillaume KasbarianMinister of Housing, both represent themselves in Centre-Val de Loire, respectively in Loir-et-Cher and in Eure-et-Loir. Fadila KhattabiMinister Delegate for the Elderly and Disabled, and outgoing Minister of Côte-d’Or, is once again a candidate. Marina Ferrari, (Digital), is a candidate for succession in Savoie. Sarah El Haïry (Minister Delegate for Youth) and Hervé Berville (Secretary of State for the Sea) represent the presidential camp in the west of the country, in Loire-Atlantique and in Côtes-d’Armor.

In the southern part of the country, there are four of them appearing before the voters. Dominique Faure (Territorial communities) in Haute-Garonne, Thomas Cazenave (Budget) a Gironde, Patricia Mirallès (Veterans) in Hérault and Sabrina Agresti-Roubache (Citizenship) in Bouches-du-Rhône. The Minister of Industry Roland Lescure for his part, is still seeking the mandate of the French in Canada and the United States.
