Five associations were honored.

It is in the sumptuous setting of the Vacquerolles golf course that the members of the Cercle Mozart Nîmes, a political reflection group, intended to allow local decision-makers from all professional backgrounds to meet and discuss, met this Thursday, June 27.

A friendly moment punctuated above all by a moment of solidarity and charity. “The planets were aligned for this annual evening of donations by the Mozart Circle. The setting, the weather, the dinner, everything was enough to delight the 100 guests who came to attend”rejoiced the organizers including Freddy Cerda, first vice-president, accompanied at the microphone by Michel De Nays Candau.

During this evening, 10,000 euros were donated to five local associations. The Cansas collective (Collective of Nîmes associations for solidarity and access to care) which fights against hygiene insecurity, represented by Dolorès Orlay-Moureau, deputy to the city of Nîmes delegated to Health, received a check for 2,000 euros.

Child protection and hospitalized children

Financial support also for the Saint-Joseph home in Alès, which works to protect children. This structure helps children and families in family and social difficulties, the most vulnerable. It welcomes nearly 150 young people. This aid will allow the establishment to set up a Snoezelen room, a comfortable and reassuring space for the children it welcomes.

“Currently in the Gard, there are nearly 300 young people waiting to be placed but who are not due to lack of space. 300 young people potentially in danger”, wanted to alert Cyril Fargier, deputy director of the Saint-Joseph home. Another supported association is the Starcos du Coeur, whose actions mainly focus on the well-being and support of hospitalized children and their families facing illness.

The last two checks were awarded to the League Against Cancer and the International Foundation of Roman Monuments of Nîmes. But the latter will only be delivered in September because Freddy Cerda absolutely wants to hand it over to Didier Lauga, former prefect, who could not be present Thursday evening.
