From June to the end of August, the association Clean gesturesinitiator of the program “It’s navigue, it’s trie”provides participating ports and boaters with tools to promote environmental preservation by combating abandoned waste.

Boaters have at their disposal a complete collection systemnamely: trash cans and small sorting bags, dishwashing bins, ashtray posts and various environmental protection awareness kits. The traditional message can be read there “Nothing overboard, all my trash in port!”.

These tools aim to encourage more respectful behavior by facilitating the sorting and management of waste on board boats. “The ship captains play the game, they take what they are given and even ask where the bins are”says Antony Pietri, the port department manager, satisfied to see the initiative appreciated.

Reinforced ecological commitment

Newly integrated into the program, the port Tino-Rossi This is not, however, its first ecological initiative. “We are under Blue Flag since 2019″, recalls the manager. This label demonstrates constant efforts to promote exemplary environmental management.

“The objective of this program is to raise awareness among boaters, but also among younger people”adds Baptiste Seatelli, referent of Gestes propre. Already certified “Clean port active in biodiversity” since 2021the structure wanted to continue its ecological progress with this program which brings together nearly 120 ports in mainland France.

At the beginning of July, ecological awareness stands will be installed on the quays, marking the continuation of this commitment.
