There was joy, neighborhood friendship and sincere smiles this Saturday morning in front of a shop in the Saint-Nazaire port district. A small crowd gathered in front of the hair salon facing the Bassin du Commerce. “The long run, the name was obvious”still laughs the jovial trader who invited neighbors and customers for his transmission day.

Patrick Le Guiader has been there for 23 years and on this morning of capricious skies, he receives many gifts and pays his way, but he is not retiring. He doesn’t even leave his institute. “I wanted to transfer the business to my apprentice who was interested. I am happy to do it with her but she prefers that I stay. I will be her employee for about two years.”

“We got along well”

He met young Alison Guichaoua, 18, just five years ago. The fishing father had left his boat and crossed the street to push open the door of the salon and find out if his hairdresser Patrick needed an apprentice. “I trained a dozen, all of them graduated. I said yes straight away. Between us, it was a match. »

The young hairdresser from the Apprentice Training Center chose this profession for her creativity but above all “Contact with people. I love seeing people I know again, catching up on news.” Patrick Le Guiader’s confidence led her to put down roots while going through the different stages of the profession, CAP, mention, brevet.

Born into a well-known family in the port and Petit-Maroc district, she followed her path like a grown-up at 22 years old. As a good Breton from Finistère, Patrick, leaves the helm but will keep a watchful eye on his protégé Alison, captain hairdresser in the long run.
