2018 world champion Djibril Sidibé back in France?

RMC SPORT INFO. Free since the end of his contract with AEK Athens, international right-back Djibril Sidibé (31 years old) has several options, notably with clubs in the top half of the table in Ligue 1.

July 1st means good business. And that could be the case with Djibril Sidibé. After two seasons in Greece at AEK Athens (2nd last season), the 2018 world champion is free of any contract.

At 31, the French full-back, trained in Troyes, could return to Ligue 1 next season. Not against a return to France, the French international (18 caps) is in contact with several clubs in the French Top 10, including some that will play in the European Cup next season.

Touches also in Spain, Italy and the Middle East

Currently in France, to keep fit, Djibril Sidibé also has contacts in Spain, Italy, where several clubs have come to inquire, as well as in the Middle East. After Raphaël Varane (in discussions with Côme), Djibril Sidibé is another French world champion on the market. Last season, the full-back played 13 games in the Greek championship and four in the Europa League. He was crowned champion of Greece in 2023.
