Radiology at Nîmes University Hospital has a new space

The Nîmes University Hospital is continuing its policy of developing outpatient care for patients.

After the opening of the Carémeau Sud Ambulatory Center (CACS) in 2019, and the outpatient cardiology department last year, it is now the turn of radiology to have a completely new space, redesigned for a patient pathway. “The opening of the CARI (Ambulatory Interventional Radiology Center) shows that interventional radiology has its place in an outpatient care approach,” says the communications department of the Nîmes University Hospital. The primary objective of this project is to improve the quality of care and hospital comfort.

Moving from three to ten places

With an average attendance of 12 patients per day, the Nîmes University Hospital has invested to increase from three to ten places, “offering better reception conditions and greater fluidity of pathways”. Professor Julien Frandon, radiologist at Nîmes University Hospital, specifies: “Thanks to CARI, care begins upon the arrival of the patient who enters a bubble of comfort and security.” The creation of CARI is dedicated to image-guided interventions in neuroradiology, oncology, osteoarticular, venous access, vascular, etc.

Creation of an outpatient interventional radiology center (CARI)

The CARI intends to improve the territorial offer and its readability in interventional radiology and contribute to the attractiveness of radiological medicine. “The waiting time is reduced. The increase in the number of places in the interventional radiology day hospital guarantees the quality and safety of care as well as better working conditions for professionals”, specifies the team at the Nîmes University Hospital. Given a growing demand, CARI aims to offer patients “cutting-edge, varied and innovative outpatient treatments”.
