Another fire century.. The Lozère prefecture has been the scene of several fires in one of its residences in recent months. But this time, it's in a downtown building that a fire broke out on Sunday November 24, 2024. And a suspect has been arrested in this case.

The events occurred late in the afternoon, at 16 rue Droite.

One person taken to hospital

Major resources were deployed by the firefighters to stop the spread of the flames in the common areas on the ground floor of this three-story building. The whole thing was evacuated. Two people were inconvenienced by the fumesincluding one taken to hospital, the police said Occitanie News.

The next morning, the Lozère national police announced that they had “arrested and placed in police custody an individual who could be the author of the facts.”

After the Saint-Jean residence

This case is of concern as another building in the city has experienced several outbreaks of fire, the Saint-Jean residence, avenue Foch. The first, in January 2024, was born from a mattress in the hall, the second on October 21, 2024, it was at the mailbox level. The third, on the night of November 6 to 7, 2024, left an apartment… In this case, investigations are continuing and the police have not reported any arrests for the moment.
