Wednesday July 3, the capital of Pas-de-Calais welcomes the passing of the Olympic flame. The start of the Arrageoise stage will be given at 3:20 p.m. at the Saint-Laurent-Blangy nautical stadium. Here is everything you need to know about the course and the Arrageoise activities.

Five kilometers is what awaits the Olympic flame procession. 25 torchbearers will carry the torch 200 meters each. Before seeing it, don’t miss the passage of the caravan made up of 50 vehicles.

Top departure from the Saint-Laurent-Blangy nautical base for the first torchbearer heading towards Arras. The public will be able to sit all along the route: the Val de Scarpe park, avenue Paul-Michonneau, place Guy-Mollet, the streets of Marché au filet, Méaulens, des Teinturiers, des Agaches, du Général Barbot , the Cour de Verdun, the Crespel and Vauban boulevards, the Place de Marseille and finally the Carnot and Strasbourg boulevards. The arrival will be festive at 4:30 p.m. on the Grand’Place.

The activities will be sporty, the Grand’Place will be transformed into an open-air gym from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. On the program, numerous activities and initiations: rhythmic gymnastics, dance, crossfit, acrobatic basketball with the Barjots Dunkers, parade of students from the Pierre-Curie school and the Arras Harmony Orchestra with the flags of 92 nations, exhibition of 24 works created by Voltaire and Molière schoolchildren, exhibition “Les Bleus dans les Jeux” with the CDOS 62, live painting of a work with the artist Ségolène Cassoret, the giants of Arras lend themselves to games with the Société des Jouteurs d’Arras, fencing animation and the arrival on the Grand’Place at the end of the morning of the solidarity flame created by the association les Marchés du Lion d’Arras… From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the route of the Olympic flame will be broadcast on a giant screen.

And elsewhere? Other events are offered from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. When passing through Place Guy-Mollet, you will be able to participate in workshops on martial arts and combat sports. Are you more into fun workshops and musical entertainment (Zumba, cardio, choirs, etc.)? Then head to Place des Héros. For fans of two-wheelers (BMX, handbike, etc.) or circus arts, you will have to go to Place de Marseille.

You will have to walk a bit… a few minutes from the city car parks. 45 minutes walk between the Livestock Market (800 spaces) and the city centre and no less than 30 minutes from Artois Expo (800 spaces). These will undoubtedly be very popular: the Aquarena and Cité Nature car parks (550 spaces) and the Crinchon (800 spaces) 20 minutes walk from the squares.
