The last blood drive of 2024, organized by the EFS in Biars-sur-Cère, took place on Thursday November 14 in the multipurpose room. The EFS wanted to welcome 95 donors presented and collect 80. Unfortunately the count is not there, by far, for the objectives to be achieved…
The collection finished at 6:30 p.m., the volunteers of the Biars-Bretenoux Blood Donor Association had never experienced such a disappointing collection. The results are not good: 66 donors presented, 61 donors sampled with three new donors. Already at the opening, only 47 donors had made an appointment, and when the volunteers checked in at reception, out of these registrations, only 43 donors showed up. The more the afternoon progressed, the more disappointed the volunteers became and the atmosphere suffered: too many vacant sampling chairs and the common snack table, which was overflowing with treats and usually so lively, was deserted by the guests. The volunteers at the service looked sad and were busy chatting. The year 2024, not very successful in blood donations, ends sadly.
But the EFS team and the volunteers of the association will meet the donors on Monday January 20 at the multipurpose room in Biars-sur-Cère, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. After heartwarming celebrations, they many of you hope: “Your blood donation is important!”
