Legislative elections 2024: 108,654 voters are called to the polls in Guyana

Return to the polls this Saturday, June 29 for the first round of the early legislative election. Guyana has two constituencies and the 108,654 registered voters must therefore elect two deputies. There are ten candidates, five per constituency, seeking a parliamentary position. Reminder of a few elements before voting day.

For this early legislative election, citizens must vote on June 29 and July 6 at polling stations in their neighborhood.
For young adults who have just turned 18, they have been automatically registered on the electoral list of their municipality. They have probably not yet received a voter card, so they must contact their parents to find out their polling station in order to fulfill their civic duty. They must have a document with a photo which attests to their identity.

The 108,654 inhabitants registered on the electoral lists are distributed over the two constituencies in the 22 municipalities.
The first constituency includes Cayenne, Rémire-Montjoly, Roura, Saint-Georges-de-l’Oyapock, Camopi, Régina, Ouanary.
In the second constituency are Montsinéry-Tonnégrande, Macouria, Kourou, Sinnamary, Saint-Elie, Iracoubo, Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, Mana, Awala-Yalimapo, Maripasoula, Saül, Apatou, Grand-Santi, Papaïchton.

This June 29, the 144 polling stations will open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. The counting operations will be carried out immediately.
The results will be announced the same evening during the big election night which will be broadcast on our various TV, radio, internet and social media channels.
