The results of the first round of the legislative elections in the 3rd constituency of the Rhône (part of the 3rd, 7th and 8th arrondissements of Lyon) are a bit of a surprise: the candidate of the New Popular Front, the outgoing Green MP, Marie-Charlotte Garin, was re-elected in the first round.

The results of the first round of the 2022 legislative elections in the 3rd constituency of the Rhône (part of the 3rd, 7th and 8th arrondissements of Lyon)

Marie-Charlotte Garin re-elected in the 1st round

This is half a surprise, given the dynamics of the Europeans. But with 51.51% of the votes, NFP candidate Marie-Charlotte Garin (NFP) lost the match in the first round in this environmentalist stronghold. Particularly thanks to record participation. Abstention fell by 18 points from 41.67% in the first round of 2022 to 23.14%.

Sarah Peillon, responsible for Renaissance du Rhône, not having wanted to relaunch the battle, it is Clara Eynaud-Lassalle which was chosen by the presidential majority to launch at short notice in 2024. She had visibly felt the tide turning.

In this constituency which had placed Jean-Luc Mélenchon at the head of the presidential election in 2022, with 35.35% of the votes against 28.94%, the ecologist Marie-Charlotte Garin was subsequently elected as a deputy in the name of Nupes with 54.79% of the votes.

Suffice to say that a Renaissance candidate had very little chance of being elected.

Clara Eynaud-Lassalle obtained 21.46% of the votes ahead of the RN candidateClotilde Morin, with 14.74%.
