Until July 12, Magalie Saucier, Nathalie Roy, Kathryn Théroux as well as Marie-Eve and Laurianne Gauthier Grenon, are calling on the population to collect donations for cancer research with the Canadian Cancer Society.
The “Our shaved heads in memory of Daniel” campaign began with the initiative of Magalie Saucier, spouse of Daniel Champagne who died on July 12, 2023 following brain cancer, with the aim of raising a minimum sum of 10 $000 to be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society on July 12, 2024! In addition, the long hair of the five participants will be donated to the DonEspoir Cancer Foundation in order to make hair prostheses.
More than $15,500 was raised, far exceeding the initial goal, thanks to numerous donations from the public, but also from events held since the campaign was launched on January 12.
The team would like to thank: Marie-Andrée Gouin of the Forestier Bar and Tapas for the evening of March 14, which raised nearly $1,000, Maryse Trahan and Manon Joyal for the organization of the Zumbathon on May 31, which raised nearly $800. $, to FormeXpert for the $200 collected, and finally to Sandra Paulin and Martine Champagne for the Pocket Tournament which took place on June 15 with a profit estimated at nearly $2000.
