It was at the stud farm, in the presence of a few members of the Municipal Council of the Elderly, and a few elected officials including the Mayor, that the communication committee of the CMJ of Rodez came to present the various works of the past season. There are 35 members, aged between 9 and 15, drawn at random from volunteers at the end of the calendar year for 2 years, in the various municipal schools and colleges of the city. This CMJ is in its second year, after a first devoted to the discovery of different missions and objectives, with meetings and visits to infrastructures, under the direction in particular of Nadia Abbou, the council focused on current projects divided into 5 committees: Sport and education, Ecology, Budget, Communication and Events, Urban planning. Passionate about history, Noham, 15, is developing the explanation of this project as part of the 80th anniversary of the liberation, which consists of making a short film to retrace the history of the first municipal council of Rodez after liberation. Ramatou is 10 years old, she is sensitive to the animal cause and wants to help mistreated or abandoned animals. The CMJ wants to organize a day event to promote the adoption of animals in Rodez. An event in gestation that will take place outdoors. Charlotte, 10 years old, will conclude this presentation by hinting at other projects currently under consideration. “These are ideas that young people would not have thought of.” She specifies. Some elements of the Council of Elders were also present. After 2 initial meetings under the aegis of the elected vice-president of the CCAS Francis Fournié, these wise men were to meet among themselves at the town hall on Tuesday July 2 in order to define an action program. At the end of the session and before a small friendly buffet, Christian Teyssédre will have offered F’Estivada passes to each member of the CMJ.
