Final twist in this affair which has been animating Rouen (Seine-Maritime) for a week. The association The Mora decided this Friday, June 28, 2024 to cancel its “foreigners outside” evening.

A decision which follows the decision of the Rouen administrative court. The latter, however, agreed with the association’s lawyer, Me Muta. The court has in fact decided to suspend the order issued by the mayor of Rouen, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol. An order issued to prohibit this evening.

An attack on fundamental freedom

“It was an attack on fundamental freedom,” the lawyer summed up for 76-. In addition, the court ruled out the risk that the evening would take place in a public space, Mr Muta said. And this was done through the prefecture’s order prohibiting demonstrations.

“On its own initiative, the association will cancel the evening,” announced the council. A decision taken by the members of Mora who ultimately wish not to aggravate the situation. Demonstrations by antifa activists were organized at the same time, in the area of rue Jeanne-D’Arc.

At the same time, the Minister of the Interior declared this morning, on the airwaves of our colleagues at France Info, that he was going to request the dissolution of the association.
