This Thursday afternoon, the DNCG gave its decision concerning the future of Le Havre in Ligue 1, the Girondins de Bordeaux and AC Ajaccio in Ligue 2. An announcement which will have consequences for these three clubs.

A week after the announcement of the calendar for the 2024-2025 Ligue 2 season, a new twist occurs with the list of decisions of the DNCG. Rodez, Caen (Ligue 2) and Lyon (Ligue 1) have not received any sanctions unlike Le Havre, Bordeaux and Ajaccio.

Le Havre received payroll support. In a press release, the club recalled that this decision was anticipated by Le Havre management. For Bordeaux, it is a stay of decision pending additional elements. As a reminder, the Girondins are threatened with demotion to National. On the other hand, AC Ajaccio is relegated to the National but has announced that it will appeal the decision. The DNCG was not satisfied with the budget presented by Corsican leaders.

FC Metz is impacted by the DNCG’s announcement since the club with the Cross of Lorraine must play in Bordeaux and Ajaccio during the seventh and twelfth days of Ligue 2. It remains, however, unlikely that the sanctions will survive the appeals of the clubs concerned.
