As the moving period begins, the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges will hold a special collection of cardboard boxes from July 2 to 12.

On the same day as the recycling collection, citizens will be able to dismantle and stack the boxes together, either by inserting them into a single box or by using rope or transparent tape, and then place them next to their rolling bin. To facilitate collection, it is recommended that the maximum size of dismantled boxes be 1 square metre.

Give a second life to almost everything through reuse

Furniture, clothing and appliances can be easily reused, as can a multitude of other goods that lend themselves to reuse. Instead of simply throwing away the objects that clutter your space, consider repairing them or donating them to organizations in the region. Network of Vaudreuil-Soulanges ecocenters

Since moving is often synonymous with spring cleaning, this is a good time to remind people of the possibility of disposing of several materials in the region’s Ecocentre Network by diverting them from landfill sites so that they can be recycled, recovered or disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Furthermore, since many people dispose of their refrigeration appliances (e.g. refrigerator, freezer, wine cellar, dehumidifier, water dispenser, portable air conditioner) when moving, the MRC would like to take this opportunity to remind people that the Carrefour de l’Espoir organization offers an on-call collection service for refrigeration appliances for all MRC citizens. These appliances are also accepted at the ecocentres located in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Rigaud and Saint-Zotique.

All citizens of the 23 municipalities of the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges can use the services of the four ecocentres in the network. In the interest of efficiency, it is suggested to accumulate your materials and sort them by category before going to the ecocentre to maximize your travel. It is important to remember that only cars or vans (including pick-up trucks) as well as standard trailers with manual unloading are authorized on the site.

Larger vehicles as well as those used in industrial, commercial, institutional or agricultural activities are prohibited.

Please note that the ecocentre located in Rigaud will remain open on Monday, July 1, 2024.

To find out the list of accepted materials or for more information on the Ecocenter Network, visit www.tricycle-mrcvs.ca or call 450 455-5434.
