Hope is always there FC Rouen. It took a miracle to still hope to save the club from filing for bankruptcy after the announcement of the demotion to National 2 by the DNCG, the financial policeman of French football, Thursday June 27, 2024. It’s done!

Against all expectations, Iwan Postel, the new president of the Rouen club, announced to us on Friday June 28 that he would finally appeal this decisionconfirming information from our colleagues at France Bleu Normandie.

We will appeal as soon as the decision [de la DNCG] will be sent to us on Monday [1er juillet].

President of FC Rouen

If he has not yet given us the reasons for this change of heart, the very recent president of the club wants to emphasize that he and the new owner Tarkan Ser are “100% sure of winning on appeal and with new conditions”.

The FCR always has a buyer

The day before, the president announced that he was throwing in the towel after a decision by the DNCG deemed incomprehensible: “They are taking us for pigeons, it’s a disgrace! It’s an insult to the legal profession. It’s up to the DNCG to avoid getting to that point. I don’t see how we could appeal, that would be endorsing the ‘unendorsable’.”

The night finally gave him advice. With this call, the club could remain in National 1 and thus hope for a derby against QRM next season. But the road is still long. The announcement in any case gives a little hope to the supporters, because the FCR still has a buyer ready to pay off its debts.
