It’s party time in the Maison France. But let’s hurry up and enjoy it, because the future is full of bad omens… More than 15,000 Mulhouse residents led the way for the Olympic flame that set off this Wednesday in Alsace from the city of Bollwerk, as a way of launching the Olympic Games that will take place in France from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

The flame’s Alsatian route included stops in the relay towns of Huningue, Colmar, Marckolsheim, Saverne and Strasbourg.

The first spectators flocked from 7 a.m. along the flame route in Mulhouse. The relay athletes ensuring its progress from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., to the Ill stadium.

In fact, protesters from the BDS group briefly attempted to unfurl a banner at the Stoessel Bridge, which read: ” Genocide is not an Olympic event, no to Israel’s participation in the Olympics ».

Taking the example of the (partial) exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes by the International Olympic Committee due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, they demand that the committee apply the same rule to the State of Israel , due to his “genocidal policy” and war crimes of which his government was guilty, at the same time as Hamas, according to independent UN investigators.

The protesters draped in the Palestinian flag were immediately fined.
