While Prime Minister Gabriel Attal was on his way to the establishment set on fire by two minors, his office was reportedly informed that LR mayor Christophe Quiniou was refusing to open the door.

At least, that’s what the outgoing MP from 13 arguede constituency Sarah Tanzilli, in front of the school where she was to welcome the head of government. “The mayor’s attitude is lamentable,” condemned the parliamentarian. “He even threatened to disrupt the Prime Minister’s visit by making a scandal in front of the cameras.”

“The least you could have done would have been to keep me informed.”

But the mayor of Meyzieu finally arrived on site. And he also firmly denied having wanted to obstruct the visit, during a heated exchange of words with the MP.

Although he admitted to telling Gabriel Attal’s teams that he “was not there to serve as a doormat for everyone” and that he did not appreciate the political exploitation of the fire, he would not have categorically refused to open the doors of the school.

“The least you could have done was to keep me informed of the Prime Minister’s arrival time rather than calling me 10 minutes before. But I was going to open it. The proof I have come. »

“he is afraid that I will denounce his scandalous political recovery”

And Christophe Quiniou tried to prove it even more by drawing out a bunch of keys. Also arriving on site, the former LR deputy of 13e circo and candidate Sunday then put forward a theory on Gabriel Attal’s last-minute cancellation: “He knew I was there and he’s afraid that I’ll denounce his scandalous political recovery to try to save Sarah Tanzilli who is in dire straits. He’s no better than Tiffany Joncour of the National Rally who came to be filmed in front of the burned establishment. His attitude is unworthy of a Prime Minister.”

“It’s distressing”

Faced with these accusations of political exploitation, Sarah Tanzilli immediately denied this: “It seemed normal to me that the State could come to the aid of this school. It was also a question of finding solutions to best support the town hall. But everything was orchestrated by Christophe Quiniou and Philippe Meunier to politicize this visit. It is distressing.”
