Noam, Yannick, Corentin et Clémentstudents from Icam in Vannes (Morbihan) launched the 1is July 2024a solidarity project with an evocative name: The ocean for all.

One of them is from Loudéac (Côtes d’Armor).

Sailing and disability

« Notre objective ? Introduce people in difficult situations handicap the happiness that sailing can offer veil ! ” present Noam Burlotone of the four students.

“It’s a essential project as part of our end of year, but it is also and above all a project “of enthusiasts,” adds the young man Loudéacien.

“Towards the blue waves”

For four years, when he joined theIcam of Valveshe had the opportunity to discover the world of nautical sports.

When you live on the coast, you really discover all these sports that surround the sea. It’s at the heart of our lives, of our school, so naturally, our project was oriented towards blue waves.

“I already had some experience in the field, we often come on holiday to the region, but it’s nothing compared to everything we’re going to learn in this project!” he continues.

An inclusive and ambitious project

Ce projectwhich is fast approaching, has actually been in preparation for October 2023.

But for Noam, the excitement is palpable: “The project motivates me because it will allow me to live a unique experience that I may never have the opportunity to relive.”

Their journey will be divided into four stages: “The first week, we will volunteer for Yellow Impact Sailing to the Trinity-sur-Mer as part of the Armada of Possibilities.

This will allow us to gain skills before the big departure for the second week,” explains Noam Burlot.

He adds: “We will sail from La Trinité-sur-Mer to reach the Glénan and Houat archipelago area in week 3.”

The voyage will conclude in a fourth week where the team will stop at the port of Crouesty pour the sailing for all initiative.

A simple goal

The goal is clear: to take people on board disability situation to introduce them to the pleasure and challenges of navigation.

We want our guests to be happy, so we accommodate their requests. Rain or shine, we will do it, as long as it is safe.

However, another challenge attend Noam and his teammates: “We will live as a foursome on a boat for almost a month“I hope it won’t be too difficult,” he jokes.

“Actually, it should go well, we know each other well and for a long time.”

Sustaining the initiative

“Our project is going well beyond of this end of the school year,” explains Noam.

“The goal is to meet the criteria of the establishmentcertainly, but we are already considering reproducing this experience for future promotions, or even for us, after we get our diploma. »

Also, their initiative is part of the Integral Ecology Mission (MEI), an approach which integrates social and ecological dimensions.

A participatory kitty

To ensure the sustainability of their project, the four students created an association and directly approached local traders and investors for support.

“It costs money, about 4 000 euros “, Noam says.

“We have launched a jackpot and talked about the project in the shops to make word of mouth. So far we have harvested 2 500 euros and we hope that our initiative will create a second craze around the project.”
