KPK says digital systems in port are not just free for returning octopuses

JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the implementation of a digital system at the port has not eliminated the practice of illegal snatching (pungli). The people behind it are supposed to recognize this.

“If it is said that there are still pungli no, yes, still. Name of the system if humans do it,” said KPK Prevention and Monitoring Deputy as well as Coordinator of the Implementation of the National Corruption Prevention Strategy (Stranas PK), Pahala Nainggolan, at the KPK Merah Putih Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 2.

“All the systems in the world if we are human cannot control,” he continued.

Despite this, the digitalization of services makes bureaucracy possible. Pahala said that one of the results is that the Indonesian logistics index data is decreasing based on data from global banks.

“We are simply telling you, the global banks are saying that our logistics costs are 24%, 24%, which has gone to make a fuss from the outside here to the end here. From the warehouse to the inventory,” he said.

This condition then changed after the implementation of digitalization. So, in the future, Pahala hopes that the World Bank will conduct a more recent survey.

“Now there is 12 to 13 percent left. We went to the World Bank, ‘When (he) is interviewed’. We are happy to be interviewed so that our friends are therapists,” he stressed.

Pahala said that this appreciation must also be given, especially for private parties who take care of the port. “Who is good must also, wants to participate in the system, wants to comply with himself how if it is exactly 12-13%. Once with the cost of Indonesian logistics, look at what our logistics looks like. If it improves, it means that efficiency is happening,” he concluded.
