The appointment

The Dionysian Mecha Club (MCD) was created in 1998 by young Dionysians who were fans of motor sports to liven up their town, Saint-Denis-la-Chevasse. It gave birth to the Solex races which would enjoy growing success for many years, culminating in the organisation of the French championships in 2009. Building on these successes but wanting to renew itself and give itself new impetus, the MCD launched the Festi’Rétro in 2011, a rural and intergenerational event, which will take place this year on Saturday 6 July.

Party, mechanics and music

Fred Berthelot, president of the MCD, reveals the spirit. Our goal is to bring together and unite young and old around our passions, partying, mechanics and music, while being serious without taking ourselves seriously. Friendliness, good humor, exchange and solidarity are our values, they allow us to flourish and escape the ambient gloom. We want to keep the event free by giving free access to culture and live music to as many people as possible. We are also keen to donate to general interest associations, Organ donations, League against cancer. Cumulative donations over 10 years reach €10,000 and this year, we are supporting the fight against childhood cancer with the association Imagine for Margo.

A break in a remarkable place kept secret

This day is based on a gathering of collector vehicles upon registration with a puzzle rally in the morning for four-wheelers and motorcycles and a hike for mopeds and Solex. A thematic and restorative break is organized in a remarkable place in the region which is kept secret until the last minute.

The return to Saint-Denis-la-Chevasse is made in a joint convoy to reach the Festi’Rétro site where a country meal awaits the pilots and their companions as well as the previously registered visitors. The party continues with a vehicle exhibition, baptisms, a competition of elegance and free evening concerts for the general public with bar and catering on site.
