After the ban on a xenophobic evening, the prefect prohibits demonstrations near the identity bar

He fears public order disturbances and clashes between demonstrators. The prefect of Seine-Maritime has just banned all demonstrations around the identitarian bar Le Mora in Rouen, which was to organize a xenophobic evening. The day before, the city’s socialist mayor Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol had issued a municipal decree banning this evening entitled “Ausländer Raus” (Foreigners out in German), a Nazi slogan that went viral after being hijacked by young people who sing it to the tune of techno.

An interim relief filed by the organizers

The prefecture banned demonstrations within a perimeter of a few streets around the bar located in a pedestrian street in the city center from Friday 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next day. “The association’s lawyers indicated on social networks to file an interim relief in order to suspend the municipal decree, specified the prefecture. The announcement of this appeal reveals the organizers’ desire to maintain the organization of their event this Friday. »

Several groups have called for a demonstration against the “racist and anti-foreigner evening” at the Théâtre des Arts, outside the prohibited area. On Tuesday, the Movement against Racism and for Friendship between Peoples (MRAP) filed a complaint for discrimination with the Rouen prosecutor’s office against the leaders of the association managing the bar.
