Breton music: new edition of the Priz Steir Eo trophies in Quimper

The 12^e edition of trophies It’s Steir Prize will take place on Saturday, June 29, on the Moulin Vert plain in Quimper (Finistère). Each year, these competitions are organized by The Green Mills Band and are part of the neighborhood festival and the traditional Saint-Jean fire. From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Breton music will resonate in the different areas of the plain in an atmosphere “country”A cake stand and a refreshment bar will be on site.

Six concours

To win a Priz Steir Eo trophy, six competitions are offered. In past years, they have brought together nearly 150 participants: drum ensembles, unusual couples drawn at random, free trios composed of three different instruments, couples of young pipers (Pierre Pulvé Trophy). Finally, pipe bands, divided according to their level, will have the opportunity to perform a Scottish music ensemble.

This new edition promises something new: Bagad Hero, inspired by the video game Guitar Hero. Groups will take turns on stage to try “to stir up public outcry”, sole judge of the performance. The winners will be chosen by the applause meter. The results will be announced at 7 p.m., just before the Midsummer festivities.
