One person died and at least one other was injured Sunday morning after an accident on the Highway 15 South ramp leading to Route 136 East in Montreal.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 6 a.m. Sunday.
“The second vehicle possibly involved left the scene,” indicates Adam Marineau, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
In the morning, the SQ indicated that one person was “in danger of dying” and later confirmed that the person had died. The other person who was taken to hospital is out of danger.
An investigation by the Major Crimes Division of the SQ has been initiated and witnesses, particularly those in the vehicle, will be questioned.
The ramp leading to Route 136 East will remain closed indefinitely while police re-enactors finish their work.
