This had the effect of a small bomb this Thursday afternoon, when the AC Ajaccio and its supporters officially learned that the club was relegated to National by the DNCG! A shock for many, who thought that with the recent season in Ligue 1 and the few follies made on the transfer market since, the Corsican club would validate its budget without making waves. Unfortunately, it will be necessary to go through the “appeal” box and especially provide guarantees to the financial policeman, in a second hearing scheduled for the beginning of July, to be able to hope to remain in Ligue 2 at first, then really move forward on the transfer window elsewhere. In the newspaper Corse Matin, we can read this Friday 28/06 an interview with the president Daniele Bufanowho did not seem to panic, confident that by further reducing its expenses, the ACA could re-enter the championship.

“The effort we made before the DNCG is in our budget for next year and we aim to provide additional guarantees. We know what needs to be done and we have a very strong hope, even a certainty, of being able to respond. And we are confident to do it in the allotted time. In particular with the contribution of Jean-Noël Fattaccioli (vice-president, Editor’s note), who was present in Paris, who is at our side, who contributes very actively to the financial life of the ACA and who is ready to provide these guarantees which would allow us to take another step forward. The decision handed down is regrettable and we are disappointed by it, but we had a constructive and collaborative discussion. We now have six days to appeal and then we will have to find a date which will certainly be in the first half of July. »
