The Park festival will take place in Saint-André-des-Eaux in September

Created for the first time in 2006, the Parc Fête has become the unmissable back-to-school event for local residents. It is an event for all audiences, which attracts nearly 5,000 visitors each year, including many families, explains Aurélie Martin-Launay, project manager at the PNRB (Brière Regional Natural Park). The town of Saint-André applied to host this new edition, and we found the Chaussée-Neuve site very interesting, because it is well identified with the passage of the GR de pays, and offering substantial natural spaces in the Natura 2000 zone. This classification also led us to make a special request for authorization to organize this great celebration there.

Traditional know-how and trades

If water is still very present at the start of summer around the site, with many terns finding something to eat due to the high water level, the situation should be very different in September… The birds will have left, and we will have a space of about 10,000 m² to set up the stands with all the participants, continues the referent. On the other hand, we have a constraint because we have no water or electricity on site, and we will be as economical and resilient as possible in terms of energy.

Traditional know-how and trades will be presented in the heart of the initiative village with numerous partners, including Andréan associations and actors. There you will find, among other things, demonstration workshops around eco-construction, with squaring with an ax or even thatching. Basket making, wool weaving, blacksmithing and cutlery will also be presented to the public.

Walks, guinguette, shows…

The PNRB will offer activities on the theme of biodiversity and sustainable initiatives, while other stakeholders will organize walks, on foot, on horseback or by bicycle. Atmosphere guaranteed with the traveling guinguette, or the Mariniers de Brière who will make their musical entrance.

Shows and entertainment will punctuate the entire day, and a concert by the Bagad de Saint-Nazaire will close this festive day.

A walk in the bocage is organized the day before, Saturday September 14, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., to meet nocturnal species. Free upon registration www.parc-naturel-briere.com.

Sunday September 15e , from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the port of Chaussée-Neuve, in Saint-André-des-Eaux. Free. Catering on site.
