An accident in Chevilly Thursday afternoon.
A man lost control of his vehicle shortly before 3 p.m., on the D2020 in Chevilly. Aged 90, the driver who left the road before hitting a town entrance sign was slightly injured. Also inside the vehicle were two women, who were slightly injured. The three victims were transported to the Orléans University Hospital by firefighters. Traffic was slightly disrupted.

Justice

A 32-year-old man appeared this Thursday before the Loiret departmental criminal court, accused of having raped his ex-girlfriend in March 2022, in Olivet. The accused maintains that the sexual intercourse was “consensual” and asserts that the victim “wanted to trap him”. The attorney general had requested a sentence of 12 years of criminal imprisonment against the accused. He was ultimately sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Tram traffic will be disrupted
Orléans Métropole has indicated that work will be undertaken for a good part of the summer of 2024, which will cause several disruptions to tramway traffic. The tramway will not run on line B from July 15 to August 2 inclusive. Replacement buses will provide services during this period.

Swimming was prohibited this Thursday.
A check was carried out on the body of water on Charlemagne Island, in Saint-Jean-le-Blanc, by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) on Wednesday June 26. It made it possible to detect the presence of cyanobacteria. Due to the health risk, the prefecture and the ARS have therefore requested the closure of swimming to the public. Water activities remain possible, except paddle and wingfoil.
