Dakar, June 27 (APS) – Olympique de Lyon (France) is in negotiations with Nottingham Forest (England) to secure the services of Senegalese international Moussa Niakhaté, we learned Thursday from journalist Fabrizio Romano , specialist in player transfers.
The Senegal Lions central defender is still under contract with Nottingham Forest, 17e of the last Premier League season.
According to the Italian journalist, the “Forests” are ready to sell the Senegalese player who will have to negotiate the conditions of his future contract with Lyon, which finished in 6e place in French Ligue 1 last season.
Moussa Niakhaté started his football career at ACS Comines (France), before joining the Lille OSC training center when he was eight years old.
He then went through Wasquehal Football and Boulogne-sur-Mer respectively, in France, before signing his first professional contract with Valenciennes, another club in France, in 2013.
After four years spent in Valenciennes, he continued his professional adventure with FC Metz.
On July 7, 2018, the player who played in all the small categories in France, deposited his backpacks in the solid team of FSV Mainz 05, in Germany. He was just 22 years old.
Four years later, he signed up for three seasons with Nottingham Forest, in July 2022. He was summoned for the first time to the Senegal national team, less than three years later, the Senegalese coach calling on him for the matches that the Lions were scheduled to play against Bolivia (2-0) and Iran (1-1).
Niakhaté was part of the Senegalese squad that participated in the last edition of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast last February.
