The Saint-Étienne Book Festival has also hosted for 11 editions, the sister festival Words on stage including the novelist and author of children’s books but also poet, Marie Pavlenko will be the godmother.

The multi-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire will return to his land as a guest of honor on the occasion of the publication of his new book, “A life in the kitchen” (Keribus editions), mixing autobiographical elements and cooking recipes.

After welcoming 120,000 visitors in 2023, 200 authors and involving 80 volunteers, the Saint-Etienne Book Festival has decided to reduce the size a little in terms of the number of authors (whose participation is paid; Editor’s note), to allow them to regain ease and comfort with the public and booksellers.

Amounting to 765,300 euros in 2023, the overall budget for the 2024 edition will be equivalent, it is supported to the tune of 20,000 euros by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and a little more than 30,000 euros by the Center national book.
