Since the 1is June 2024, date of implementation of paid parking at Neudorf in Strasbourg, several parking meters have been vandalized in the neighborhood.

10 screens damaged, 7 facades repainted

According to Streeteothe company which manages parking in Strasbourg on behalf of the City as part of a public service delegation (DSP), 10 screens were damaged in total, since replaced by technical teams. Moreover, sept façades had to be cleaned and repainted and two solar hats were broken, hats for which Streeteo is awaiting delivery of components.

“These incidents do not cause no additional cost to the community, as part of the DSP,” indicates Streeteo. “Maintenance and repair work is our responsibility,” adds the operator.

Streeteo is almost over

Currently, on-street parking is delegated by the municipality to a company, Streeteo, as part of a public service delegation (DSP). The contract is due to end in November 2025. From this date, paid parking will be managed through a local public company (SPL), 95% owned by the City of Strasbourg and 5% by the Eurométropole.

Frequent damage, whatever the area, according to Streeteo

The latter specifies to be “ regularly faced with degradation on parking meters in all areas, without initiating legal proceedings.”

“Currently, we are examining the situation with our insurance department to determine the appropriate procedure for reporting all damages,” said the operator.
