The neighborhood association and Pasteur students are offering an exhibition on Thursday, July 4.

As part of the celebration of the last season of activities at the Frédéric-Mistral space, the Croix de Poumeyrac-Cure-Courondelle association and the Pasteur school are organizing the presentation of student work, carried out with Françoise Lussi-Perniola , visual artist. This event will take place Thursday July 4from 6 p.m., at the Mistral center (rue Paul-Cézanne, opposite n° 6).

The Frédéric-Mistral center is rich in history which has marked the life of the neighborhood. In the past, it housed a primary school, then, when the Pasteur school was built, one of its buildings was reserved for the school canteen. Since 1996, the other building has housed the Croix de Poumeyrac association.

This space will soon find another life as part of a rehabilitation project. The work of the students of the Pasteur school makes it possible to mark a new milestone with an official celebration bringing together the generations who have frequented these places. The artist’s intervention brings together the artistic, educational and historical aspects around the same theme.

With the “deconstruction-reconstruction” approach, the students produced a plastic work using as much recycled materials as possible. These works were produced in mixed techniques (painting, collage, charcoal, pastel, gouache, monotype and inks). Each teacher chose, in relation to the visual artist, a theme and an associated technique in reference to an artist.

The themes chosen by the kindergarten are: “games”, “canteen”, “poetry-dance”, “Frédéric Mistral”, “animals”. The reference artists are: Paul Klee, Valério Adami, Henri Matisse, Pierre Alechinsky. In elementary school, we find: “Calligraphy”, “figuration today”, “self-portrait”, “environment”, “architecture”, according to Pierre Alechinsky, Banksy, Andy Warhol, Paul Klee, Kandinsky.

Secondly, a search “What happened to the alumni of our school?” will be launched. Thus, generations will be able to share their emotions in the places where they were certainly built.
