Fifteen years after its construction, the Pont des Indes, which links Lorient to Lanester (Morbihan), spanning the Scorff over 260 m, will be the subject of major maintenance work in the spring or summer of 2025. Initially announced for the summer of 2024, as revealed by Le Télégramme, they will finally take place next year.

“We decided on this calendar in agreement with the mayor of Lanesterindicates Fabrice Loher, mayor of Lorient and president of Lorient agglomeration. The responses obtained to the call for tenders were not satisfactory. »

Inaugurated in September 2007, this bridge sees more than 10,000 vehicles pass per day, according to a 2014 AudéLor study.

It had been inspected from A to Z in 2018 by the Contex company, from the foundations to the top, in order to“examine the damage that appears and then draw up a report and judge the work to be carried out”.

According to Fabrice Loher, the mayor, this maintenance work is linked to the “Normal corrosion on a 15-year-old structure. The anti-corrosion treatment will be done under the bridge. On the deck, street furniture and public lighting will be reviewed and the guardrails repaired.”

During the work, which should last “three to four months”the bridge will not be closed to traffic.

Depending on the construction phases, traffic could be “alternating on one track”.
