In the 5e constituency of Morbihan, the center-right mayors of Lorient, Larmor-Plage and Groix support Lysiane Métayer, outgoing MP, candidate of the presidential majority.

Fabrice Loher, Patrice Valton and Dominique Yvon indicate in a joint press release that she has “ardently defended for two years the major issues of the constituency, those which notably impact economic life and employment in our municipalities”.

And to detail: “The first, relating to military shipbuilding which provides employment to more than 4,000 people. Emerging from the great form of Naval Group are the most modern units of the French Navy, notably the FDI (Defense and Intervention Frigates) but also units intended for export. These export contracts are vital for the economic balance of these major arms programs […]. We want a deputy who votes for the appropriations for the military programming law, who fights to demand the acceleration of construction projects by the French FDI, who in a word is totally invested within the defense commission, a strategic place for the commitment to major arms programs. Lysiane Métayer was this deputy for two years. »

Against “radical NGOs”

“The second relates to fishing. […] More than ever, we need to defend French and Breton fishing, on its two legs: coastal fishing and deep-sea or semi-industrial fishing. We want a member of parliament who will stand alongside the players in the sector, the fishermen, all already committed to responsible and sustainable fishing, rather than on the side of radical NGOs! More than 3,000 jobs in the fishing industry in the Lorient region are at stake.

Finally, “the third maritime pillar: ocean racing and its thousand jobs, its 35 million euros of annual economic spinoffs on the territory of Lorient Agglomeration. This ocean racing hub is also at the origin of major technology transfers (sailing sector as part of the decarbonization of maritime transport of goods or the development of composite materials). We need an MP who relays this modern and economic conception of the world of pleasure craft and sailing, a sector of activity that is now strategic for our economic future. »
