Drug trafficking in Alençon: up to 4 years in prison required for 15 defendants

Started on Monday June 24, 2024, a trial, involving 16 people in drug trafficking and possession of weapons in the Perseigne district, continued, Wednesday June 26at the Alençon court (Orne).

The investigation, which lasted several months, led to the seizure of cannabis, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and crack.

The morning was devoted to the requisitions of Laëtitia Mirande, public prosecutor.

Four years in prison for the alleged leader

The latter requested prison sentences for 15 of the 16 defendants.

The prosecution notably requested a sanction of 4 years imprisonment for the young man 20 anssuspected of being at the head of the network.

Ornais was living with his grandmother at the time of the events. A search led to the discovery of a handgun (category B). “Nearly €1,900 was found, with bags and pouches of narcotics. »

No one blamed him except the cook.

Two years in prison for the “cook”

Regarding the “cook” (the one who manufactures drugs), he admitted working for the alleged leader “at least since the summer of 2022”.

The thirty-year-old started as a lookout before manufacturing the material at his partner’s house. The defendant also made deliveries, in addition to possessing narcotics and renting out his cellar. “Bottles of ammonia, tablets and empty sachets were found at his home in addition to the torn smoke detector. »

However, he had benefited from several measures to get out of this situation, but he never took advantage of them.

Against him, the prosecution requested 3 years of imprisonment including 1 year of suspended probation.

Four “nannies” among the defendants

Four people were identified as alleged nannies.

An apartment was in the name of a mother of three children. In addition to making her accommodation available, the 25-year-old woman “transported accomplices and ensured deliveries”.

In return, she would have received €50 daily. For these facts, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested 2 years of imprisonment, including one year of probationary suspension.

Financial difficulties for some…

The second defendant, aged around forty, also admitted her involvement in transporting money.

She was in possession of drugs, a category B pistol and a category C hunting rifle.

The forty-year-old said she was in financial difficulty with his dependent children and would have “lost sense of reality”. Two years of imprisonment, including 6 months with a suspended probationary sentence were required.

Stable situations for others

The third defendant lives in the home where it all started. The first wave of arrests took place on October 4, 2022, in his cellar, made available to traffic. “She saw the comings and goings every day, but never asked any questions. »

If she initially denied any involvement, the Alençonnaise recanted at the hearing. Because of his clean record and his stable personal situation, 4 months suspended prison sentence requested.

Finally, the last one had also given her apartment keys. Drugs and two knives were found in her home. She is also professionally integrated and has no criminal record. The prosecutor requested 6 months suspended prison sentence.

One of the three brothers should be released

Three brothers are also involved in this trial. If one of them should be acquitted, due to lack of evidence, the representative of the Public Prosecutor requested 2 years of imprisonment for the eldest, and 2 and a half years for the youngest.

Their house, located in the town of Valframbert, notably housed an automatic pistol, ammunition and a bag containing €135,000 worth of drugs.

For the other links in the “chain”, the requisitions range from 10 months in prison with suspended probation to 3 years of imprisonment.
