The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) arrested four individuals believed to be linked to organized crime on Wednesday morning for offenses of possession of narcotics with the aim of trafficking.
The intervention was carried out by investigators from the MALSAIN project, assisted by the Tactical Intervention Group and other units of the SPVQ. Police arrested two men aged 50 and 54, as well as two women aged 32 and 55.
The 54-year-old man was also arrested for firearms-related offences. He must appear Wednesday at the Quebec courthouse.
The 50-year-old man and the 55-year-old woman were released by summons, while the 32-year-old woman was released without charge.
Searches in Beauport and Saint-Émile
After the arrests, the police carried out searches in two residences in Beauport and Saint-Émile.
The investigation continues and other arrests could be made
specified the spokesperson for the SPVQPierre-Olivier Lévesque.
During these searches, investigators notably seized a 9 mm pistol, ammunition, a large quantity of drugs, resale equipment, cell phones and approximately $25,000 in Canadian currency.
