“Each city has its job forum where we are partners: at the Vitry and Ivry job forums, for example, we are exhibitors. Here, the situation is different since we are the ones who initiated the event and we are the ones who invite all the partners. We were able to select the companies based on the needs of the local mission public“, explains Sabrina Fouinat, advisor to the local mission.
“There are plenty of forums. What interests us is that people feel good in ours, develops Florent Michelin, director of the mission. For the occasion, 40 agents from his establishment were deployed. “At the entrance, there is already a first reception with agents who meet the applicants. The latter receive a map with all the stands of the forum so that they can find their way: we are often lost in this type of event. Once in the forum, guides take care of personal support and then put applicants in touch with companies or schools according to their search criteria.. We also have a creperie stand for everyone to stock up on.”
Job seekers with different profiles
“I studied animated cinema in Grenoble, but I would like to reorient myself in the book industry. Unfortunately, I didn’t get my wishes, so I’m taking a year off, confides Lou, 23 years old. The ideal would be to work in a bookstore. For the moment, I have not found any offers that suit me, but I went to see the stands of the town halls of Ivry and Vitry which gave me contacts“. If she has not found any interesting job offers, the student does not despair and intends to continue her research using the contacts provided to her.
For Issa, the forum was fruitful, “I did some stupid things before so I ended up at the local mission. Now I have to survive! There were quite a few offers that interested me, particularly for plumbing. I was able to submit CVs, so I am satisfied.“
Frédéric is studying computer science. He is now looking for an alternation, “I looked around, but so far, I haven’t found the right fit. There aren’t many companies offering a work-study position as an IT specialist. I’ve still submitted a few CVs, just in case…“.
Varied offers and training
In total, 45 exhibitors, companies and training organizations were present at the forum. “We refused companies that never recruit our young people to expose structures in which we fully trust“, explains Florent Michelin

So we try to find it by all means. We are especially lacking in heavy goods vehicle drivers“, explains one of the agency’s employers. Same case for Engie solution, a subsidiary of Engie, “we have quite a few positions for operating technicians or maintenance technicians which are very popular today and very complicated to recruit“, reports Steeven Bichara, human resources manager at the operator.
Certain training establishments, such as Emac (school of food and trade professions) located in the international market of Rungis, were also involved.We have many partners like Monoprix for whom we recruit. We therefore offer our training as a training center, but we also offer work-study offers for young and old alike.“, explains Ludovic Chatelle, recruitment manager for the school.
