A petition was launched by users of the Handistan network in Nancy. They denounce the numerous delays and the difficulty of booking this service. Transport which is reserved for people with reduced mobility.

In Nancy, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, people with reduced mobility still have difficulty getting around. Online reservation problem, frequent delays, last minute cancellation, Myriam Brandenburger, disabled, regularly uses the Handistan adapted transport network. “It’s been about three months since I went to my physiotherapist”says Myriam in a wheelchair. “Another user I know can no longer go to his speech therapist because they don’t take him. I no longer have a social life. It no longer works.”

Since the health crisis, the effectiveness of the service has been called into question.

Even if it remains public transport, it is mainly medical appointments that are canceled. “In fact, it is since the health crisis that the effectiveness of the service has been called into question. Now, there are people who have to book a month in advance”explains Christine Janssens, APF project manager France Handicap 54.

Claire Bernagoult, director of Synergihp, which manages the Handistan network, confirms that “The management of the transport network is aware that they have been experiencing difficulties with service saturation for months. We are trying to put everything back in place and use our software to develop our grouping rates.”

Launched at the beginning of June, a petition is online: “new alert on the malfunctions of the Handistan service”.

Each year, the Handistan service makes more than 60,000 trips in the Greater Nancy metropolis by 23 drivers.
