Passing of the Olympic flame

An exceptional excitement should light up Vitry on Sunday July 21 as the Olympic flame passes. During this preview of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (JOP), imagined popular and festive in Vitry, the famous flame will appear a little before 5 p.m., held at arm’s length by five successive bearers over a kilometer.

The flame will take the avenue du Moulin-de-Saquet with its candelabras adorned with flags to the Place de la Libération to finish its journey at Mac Val, before being motorized to reappear in Créteil. It will be carried by residents of the region, and perhaps of Vitry, but whose names have not yet been communicated to us.

Come and take part in the event:

• From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. – Market Square
  Cultural events, DJs, exhibitions, sports shows, food trucks.
• From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. – Palais des sports Maurice-Thorez
  E-sport tournament: FC24, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart (registration required: armateam.org)
• From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Mac Val
  Inauguration of the Tripple Dribble exhibition by Julia Borderie with Simon Zaborski and the players of the Ivry and Vitry Basketball Sports Union; entertainment in the garden.
• 5:15 p.m. – Place de la Libération
  Arrival of the Olympic flame and ceremonial.
