With a success against Romania (2-0), the Red Devils finally launched their Euro 2024 after a failed start to the tournament against Slovakia. In front of them now stands Ukraine on the last day of the group stage to try to validate their place in the round of 16 of the competition.
Belgium are currently second in a more open Group E than ever, with four teams each on 3 points.
The Devils are not forced to win against Ukraine to reach the 1/8th but could meet a “less tough” opponent in the event of first place. Here are the potential adversaries based on the different possible scenarios.

If Belgium finishes at the top of its group…
In the event of first place in the group, Belgium will face the third of group A, B, C or D in the round of 16. With among the potential candidates:
- Hungary (Group A)
- Slovenia (Group C)
- Netherlands (Group D)
Croatia, third in Group B with two points, can no longer be among the four best 3rd.
If Belgium finishes 2nd in its group…
In the event of second place, the Red Devils will inherit the second in group D, namely France. The Devils have been warned.
If Belgium finishes 3rd in its group…
In the event of third place (if Belgium is among the best thirds), the Devils will face either the first of group B, namely Spain, or the first of group Cnamely England.
