June is traditionally a month of city festivals and 2024, despite the inclement weather, is no exception. Several municipalities in SQY are celebrating at the end of June. Notably Élancourt, where the municipality has gotten into the habit, for three editions now, of organizing major concerts at the Boniface sports park, welcoming a headliner. This year, see you on June 29 at the same place, and this time it is Christophe Willem who will be in the spotlight. The interpreter of Double je, winner of the show Nouvelle star in 2006, will thus stop at Élancourt, he who is currently on tour in France, Belgium and Switzerland. He “will sing his new songs like his greatest hits”, announces the élancourtoise commune. New tracks, notably from his latest album, Panorama, released in 2022.
After Francky Vincent and Émile et images two years ago, Patrick Hernandez, Pedro Castano, Early evening, Claire des L5 and Jean-Pierre Mader last year, the municipality of Élancourt is once again seeing the big picture this year with an artist whose first three albums were certified platinum (and even triple platinum for the first, Inventaire). Besides Christophe Willem, another artist who passed through a tele-corchet will perform the same evening in the town. In this case, Wahil, candidate for The Voice in 2021, who will provide the first part “by lending his vocal power to popular covers”, specifies the City.
The concert will be available from 9 p.m., but from the afternoon, from 3 to 7 p.m., more than 40 activities and sporting challenges (from 5-6 years old) will be offered at the Boniface sports park: climbing, cycling , boxing, volleyball, basketball, table tennis…. The focus will of course be on the next Olympic and Paralympic Games, of which SQY and Élancourt will host events.
Children will also be able to have fun with a giant inflatable course, an inflatable go-kart circuit, a giant chess game, a makeup area, digital workshops, a Brazilian Olympic bracelet workshop, an anti-collision sticker workshop for birds, within the SQY village and the Games, or even with the musical scene of the leisure centers… But also (from 6 years old), four other inflatable courses, four ventriglisse tracks, a waterball, a six-track trampoline, two giant targets (darts and football), or (from 12 years old), a giant water slide, a mallet and a fairground punch. Little ones will not be forgotten, with activities for ages 0 to 5 (three inflatable structures, a carousel, baby gym, manipulation workshops, puzzles, face painting, courses, photography, etc.).
Shows provided by children from the leisure centers, or even games to win places for the Olympic mountain bike events on Élancourt hill, will punctuate the day. And all these activities (except the evening concert) will be accessible by small train from the town hall (free, every 15 minutes, last return to town hall at 7 p.m.). For people coming by car, parking is available at the Agora, at the Chastanier gymnasium, at the Villedieu shopping center, at the Mousseau farm, or at the town hall… All the activities, including the evening concert will be free. But Élancourt will not be the only Saint-Quentin commune to organize festivities during this period. The same day, June 29, the Coignières festival will be held, starting at 2 p.m. in front of the recently inaugurated Daudet space. Inflatable structures, food stands, community village, pony, makeup stand, balloon sculptor entertainment in the Espace Daudet parking lot, meals with an orchestra at the La Farandole leisure center will delight young and old alike. Without forgetting the 20-minute fireworks display, which will be fired at 10:45 p.m. from the stabilized ground located behind the Moulin à Vent gymnasium. But the evening will not stop there, since a showcase will be provided by the artist BIJ, creator of the group Soul syndicat (more than 30 years of career) from 11:15 p.m. to midnight, then a dance evening hosted by a DJ , from midnight to 2 a.m., in the gymnasium parking lot. In Villepreux, the Summer Festival is held at V Park, again on June 29, from 2 p.m. to midnight. “In this Olympic year, sport is in the spotlight and the city services have put together a lively program for you,” summarizes the municipality. Stroll, power yoga classes, color run, break show, aperitif, DJ, sports activities and many other festivities are planned. Also in Plaisir, a Summer Festival is held at Maison Rousseau, on June 25 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (outdoor meals, 20 euros per person), as well as an end-of-year party at home of the Flora Tristan families, June 29 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On the program: games, musical times for young and old and manual activities, or even a discovery of a sensory well-being space.
