In Beauvais, Corolis employees disagree with the agglomeration’s proposals, the strike continues

Corolis employees, on strike since June 17 in Beauvais, refused this Monday, June 24, the agglomeration’s proposals. The strike continues for an “unlimited” period.

For a week now, more than 90% of Corolis employees are on strike out of the 104 on the job, and this for a duration “unlimited”.

“The social climate and communication with employees are broken”expresses Thomas Gaillard, representative of the CFDT.

In a spirit of appeasement and social dialogue, Caroline Cayeuxpresident of the Beauvaisis Urban Community, and Jacques Doridamvice-president in charge of Mobility, brought together this morning the inter-union and the leaders of the Corolis network, in order to resolve a conflict, which lasts since June 17.

The employees’ demands are focused, according to them “on things that already exist, but which are not applied to all employees. And specify: “We are not asking for the creation of bonuses. Only that we are all in the same boat.”

After several discussions, Caroline Cayeux explains, in a press release, that she made the following proposals:

• A 4% increase in base salary,
• A indexation of 4 premiums (Night bonus / Meal basket / Attendance bonus / Quality bonus), • Theextension of the night premium until 6 a.m. (instead of the current 5 hours),
• The payment of a PEPA bonus (Purchasing Power Bonus) up to €500,

All of these measures allow a salary increase of 6.15% for 2024, an increase of around 12% over 2 years

Employees in disagreement

“After presenting these measures to all employees, the unions announced at the end of the afternoon that they disagreed and wanted to continue the strike movement”.

As for the employees, all assured that the strike will continue as long as the demands are not accepted as they stand.

The demands in question are:

  • • An increase in the hourly rate to 4%
  • • The four bonuses, in force today (night, basket, quality and attendance), which “have not been increased for several years”or indexed at 4%
  • • Uniformity on night bonuses between drivers and controllers.
  • • Health insurance
  • • A peaceful social climate

This appeasement between employees and management occurs in particular “by recognition of our work”, assure the unions. “During the Covid crisis, we worked and we never had prime PPV. Now we want this bonus.”

Caroline Cayeux and Jacques Doridam “regret that these proposals did not make it possible to put an end to this strike movement, and deplore that Beauvais residents continue to be the first victims of this situation.”

The strikers, for their part, say they want to return to full service: “Putting users into trouble doesn’t make us happy.”
