This mother is Delphine. His son, Mathieu Caizergues, disappeared on June 23, 2017, at the age of 24, during a hike in Reunion. Left with two other men, one a gendarme like him, the other was the companion of a gendarme. Mathieu was never found. Not even his body.
In a message on social networks this Saturday, Delphine wrote: “I have no more hope. I will never see you again. Everything is so clear today. They didn’t give you a chance. What did you hear that you shouldn’t have heard, on this path that you idealized so much. What did you see that you shouldn’t have seen?

She continues, between detailed and more evasive remarks: “Today, we know. Everyone knows. Except the justice system, at least not yet. She is working… Let no one talk to us about an accidental fall anymore: YOU ARE NOT IN THE CIRCUS.” And if this time she gives up on finding him in one way or another, Delphine still asserts real determination. “They won’t erase your smile from our memories. I won’t let them go. Ever.”
