Basketball: a weekend in Frontignan that will make the memory machine run at full speed

The “Vin’t’age Basketball Challenge” will hold its fifth edition from Friday June 28 to Sunday June 30 in Frontignan. Big names in French basketball are expected.

Their names may not speak to the youngest, but it will be the ideal opportunity for them to come and perfect their basketball culture.

The fifth edition of the “Vin’t’age Basketball Challenge”, which will take place all weekend within the walls of the Roger-Arnaud room, will indeed bring together some players who have participated in the great days of French basketball. Sponsored by Philip Szanyiel, Apollo Faye and Jacques Monclar (who, it should be remembered, did two or three things before commenting on the matches and presenting NBA Extra), the event takes place in the form of a tournament which, if it is intended to be friendly, does not cancel out the competitive virtues of the former pros.

Legends

New this year will be the women’s match with the team led by Isabelle Fijalkowski facing that of Odile Santaniello. On the men’s side, requests for selfies risk reaching their maximum threshold, notably with the presence of the two Olympic vice-champions Antoine Rigaudeau and Mouss Sonko. They could be accompanied by Laurent Sciarra and Laurent Foirest. Hervé Dubuisson is also expected. So much for the legends.

The local touch

At the very least, there are nearly twenty former Pro A players, as many for Pro B, who should be present on the Muscat floor. The benches will also be well stocked, like the Ving’t de Provence selection (including Sacha Giffa) which will be coached by Alain Weisz, former national coach. On the local side, the Languedoc selection will be coached by Stéphane Olivieri (FTHB) and Ken Dancy (SCSB). It will include in its ranks Jean-Marc Kraidy, Tariq Kirksay as well as the Parsys, father and son! Frontignan LPB will thus be perfectly represented.

The program.
This Friday at 7 p.m.: Languedoc / Provence.
This Saturday, ten matches scheduled between 9 a.m. and 7:15 p.m.
This Sunday: women’s match at 2 p.m., followed by the final of the Vin’t’age tournament at 3 p.m.
